Chinese robotics technology company Jingshuo has agreed to raise 70 million yuan, approximately $10.5 million, in its first external financing round, as investors increase their exposure to infrastructure supporting artificial intelligence in physical environments.

The Guangzhou-based company, associated with autonomous-driving developer WeRide, announced the pre-Series A investment on Thursday. Participants include Vision Knight Capital, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks and Sirius Capital. The transaction values Jingshuo at approximately 2.07 billion yuan, or $311 million, according to company disclosures. The investment remains subject to the conditions set out in the subscription agreement signed on Wednesday.

Jingshuo develops data and model infrastructure intended to support machines operating in the physical world. Its work involves combining datasets, simulated environments and systems that help robots acquire and apply practical capabilities. The company plans to use the financing to expand its research team, integrate its technology platform and broaden the range of activities covered by its training systems. The agreement also includes an employee incentive arrangement intended to support recruitment and retention.

The investment reflects growing interest in the technologies required to move artificial intelligence beyond software applications into manufacturing, logistics and autonomous systems. While robotics companies often attract attention for their finished machines, the underlying training infrastructure is becoming an important commercial field. Jingshuo must now demonstrate that its systems can support reliable performance across varied operating conditions. The fundraising highlights investors' willingness to finance that less visible part of the robotics industry.
