Pathways Forward, a pioneering initiative aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among women, has unveiled the Pathways Pledge, a collaborative effort by leading organisations to support women entrepreneurs in Jammu and Kashmir. The announcement was made during the Bharat Tex 2024 event at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The inaugural signatories of the Pathways Pledge include prominent organisations such as AccelerateHER, CivTech, CodeBase, Deloitte, Eos Advisory, Scottish EDGE, and the Scottish National Investment Bank. These organisations have committed to taking concrete actions aligned with the principles outlined in Ana Stewart’s Pathways report, with progress to be evaluated over the next 12 months.

Ana Stewart, the driving force behind Pathways Forward, emphasised the importance of collective action in driving meaningful change. The Pathways Pledge aims to break down barriers and create a supportive ecosystem for women entrepreneurs by leveraging the combined efforts of diverse stakeholders.

The Pathways report, commissioned by the Scottish Government, identified structural challenges hindering women’s participation in entrepreneurship. By launching the Pathways Pledge, organisations are taking proactive steps to address these challenges and promote gender diversity in entrepreneurship.

Through the Pathways Pledge, organisations will implement initiatives to support women entrepreneurs, enhance gender diversity in decision-making processes, and foster a culture of inclusivity in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The launch of the Pathways Pledge marks a significant milestone in the journey towards gender equality in entrepreneurship. By collaborating and taking tangible actions, organisations are paving the way for a more inclusive and supportive environment for women entrepreneurs in Jammu and Kashmir and beyond.
