As part of a concerted effort to foster entrepreneurship and gender equality, the Ministry of Economy in collaboration with the European Women Association (EWA) has introduced the ‘Investment Readiness Acceleration’ programme. This initiative aims to empower women-led startups in the UAE by equipping them with essential skills to navigate various sectors, secure funding, and effectively articulate their vision to potential investors.
The programme was officially inaugurated at a ceremony held at the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, graced by the presence of Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, the Ministry of Economy’s Undersecretary, alongside representatives and leaders from both government and private sectors dedicated to bolstering the UAE’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, as reported by Emirates News Agency, WAM.
As a pivotal component of the Entrepreneurial Nation project initiated by the Ministry in 2021, the programme aligns with the UAE’s ongoing efforts to promote gender equality and foster women’s participation across diverse economic sectors. Its primary goal is to inspire women to establish entrepreneurial ventures that not only contribute to economic growth but also enhance the country’s overall economic progress.
Ahmed Al Saleh underscored the UAE’s strides in promoting gender equality and empowering women in the economy, in line with the directives of the country’s leadership. He expressed optimism about the new programme with EWA, viewing it as a significant step forward in advancing these efforts.
Yulia Stark, President of the EWA European Women’s Association, stressed the importance of empowering women and startups in economic activities to drive sustainable development. She highlighted the programme’s objective to provide women with opportunities to initiate projects that contribute to sustainable economic growth, both within and beyond the borders of the UAE.
The ‘Investment Readiness Acceleration’ programme stands as a testament to the UAE’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and dynamic entrepreneurial landscape, where women are empowered to unleash their potential and drive economic prosperity for the nation.
