Women chief executives lead five of Canada's 10 fastest-growing technology companies, according to Deloitte's latest ranking, marking the first time the annual programme has recorded an equal split at the top.

The 2026 Technology Fast 50 list, published on Wednesday, ranks eligible companies on revenue growth over four years rather than market value or total sales. Toronto-based Finni Health took first place after reporting growth of 46,574%. Its platform helps autism care professionals establish and operate independent practices. Deloitte said companies in the main ranking recorded average revenue growth of 3,079%.

Other award categories highlighted the diversity of Canada's expanding technology businesses. Vancouver logistics company UniUni led the Enterprise Industry Leaders category with four-year growth of 2,143%, while Ottawa database developer Turbopuffer topped the Companies-to-Watch ranking. The results provide a snapshot of firms growing across healthcare services, delivery networks and software infrastructure, rather than a single technology segment.

The list offers an insight into growth, rather than an assessment of performance. Rapid expansion does not necessarily mean these firms are the country's biggest or most profitable. Deloitte requires participating companies to submit audited or reviewed financial statements, but the rankings measure growth rates, which can be especially dramatic when businesses start from a small revenue base. The consultancy also found that many applicants were focused on customer acquisition, raising capital and potential acquisitions. For Canada's entrepreneurial sector, the figures point to businesses pressing ahead with expansion despite tighter financing conditions, while underscoring the practical difficulties of sustaining exceptionally fast growth.
